‘Crank’ up the action for Friday

Looks as if we’re up for another week of ho-hum entertainment at the movies. AMC’s River Park Square 20 is opening three mainstream offerings: “17 Again,” “Crank: High Voltage” and “State of Play.”

The first stars Zac Efron as Matthew Perry mysteriously returned to high school. The second is the improbable sequel to 2006’s “Crank,” starring Jason Statham. And the third is the political thriller that has Russell Crowed starring as a journalist with a ’60s-era hairdo.

Seems to be Netflix time!
