Tea Parties: Protest Or Grandstand?

For eight years, it was the Democrats’ turn to beat up Republicans over the federal budget deficit. Now, it’s the Republicans’ turn to blame Democrats for the deficit. If you want to understand why the deficit is growing - much to the peril of our kids and grandkids - this is a good place to start. Instead of treating the deficit like the crisis it is, politicians on both sides have treated the issue like a bludgeon, a handy tool for the loyal opposition.
