For a Chaplin moment, try TCM

I was just channel surfing and I discovered Preston Sturges’ 1943 comedy “The Miracle at Morgan’s Creek.” It’s playing on Turner Classic Movies. Well worth seeing.

If you think you might develop insomnia late on tonight, you might want to check out another TCM offering, one that’s bound to help your film education: Playing at 1:45 a.m. is “Charlie/Life and the Art of Chaplin,” a 2004 documentary featuring the late filmmaker Sydney Pollack .

Maybe it’ll show that final scene from “City Lights.” Makes me cry every time.
