Understanding Palin

The Spokesman-Review

I’m getting a little tired of Sarah Palin and her comments. “We eat, therefore we hunt” may fire up your base but does nothing for the rest of us.

Most hunters hunt because primarily it gives them a sense of enjoyment. It’s only incidental that it also puts food on their table.

I, like most people, do my hunting at the supermarket, where I buy beef and pork among other things. Beef and pork come from raising and slaughtering cows and swine. This has nothing to do with hunting.

So now she’s resigned as governor but admonishes us not to hound the children of her successor. Someone needs to remind her that it was her decision to trot out her pregnant teenage daughter, handicapped child and future (which didn’t work out) son-in-law while running for vice president last year.

Sell your book(s), Sarah, raise all the money you want or need, fire up your base, and put yourself and your ideas forward for public office. But please stop lecturing us so-called elite folks about how we just don’t get it. We understand political ambition no matter how it’s packaged!
