Not enough doctors

The Spokesman-Review

The president wants to put 47 million more people into the health care system. Where is he going to find the doctors? Let’s assume that a doctor has 1,000 patients in their practice. That would mean that for every million people, we would need 1,000 doctors. We would need 47,000 more doctors to maintain the level of care that we have now.

When the government starts telling a doctor how many hours they can work and how much money they can make, I wonder how many will stay in medicine and how many new people will go into medicine?
