HXD: Both Sides Misinform, Spin
HappyXDopey:
These are some indications to me that the Dems aren’t open to a dialogue any more than the Reps are …Calling the various protests “astroturf”, calling the protesters “un-american”, the SEIU sending out emails encourging members to show up and “drown out” the protesters, the presidents comments that the opposition should just shut up and let him have his way, and their own fair share of misinformation and “spin”.

Question: Have the Obama administration and the current Demo Congress introduced more bipartisanship to the political process than the Bush administration and congresses of the last 8 years?
Sis, I doubt you’ll agree, but these are some indications to me that the Dems aren’t open to a dialogue any more than the Reps are…Calling the various protests “astroturf”, calling the protesters “un-american”, the SEIU sending out emails encourging members to show up and “drown out” the protesters, the presidents comments that the opposition should just shut up and let him have his way, and their own fair share of misinformation and “spin”.
As far as the R’s offering an alternative, there are a few out there, but nothing substantial unfortunately. Mostly just vague proposals to allow insurance across state lines and such. It’s unfortunate they haven’t done better, because I believe there are better ideas out there than either side has offered thus far.
The thing that irks me about the handling of the issue is the blatant misinformation from both sides (and I’ll freely admit the R’s are the worse offenders in this regard…”Obama wants to kill the elderly” just stupid). Still both sides hurt the entire debate by trading in half-truths and lies.
