Noise controls wanted
Having just been run inside by the noise of a leaf blower and other equipment of a lawn care provider working on North Hamilton next door to me, I have surfed the Net to see that many wise cities are enforcing the noise level of leaf blowers and other equipment.
Some cities consider 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the time for no noise when people are inside with the house shut up and maybe are sleeping. I was working in my yard with my “noiseless” equipment – a “manual” edger, a broom, rake and so on.
Considering the noise, pollution, waste of gas, hearing loss and whatever else all this “powered equipment” causes, not to mention the health problems from lack of exercise, does all this interfere with quality of life?
I have to invest in a set of earmuffs to protect myself from the noise of the lawn care outfit my neighbor uses, and the other neighbors own “powered” equipment? Absurd! But I have to.
What kind of city do I live in? What are they thinking? Where is the quality of life? Near nature, near perfect? You got to be kidding!
