Liberty in danger

The Spokesman-Review

When I visit the doctor, I want the freedom to make the decisions as necessary for my life – not submitting to medical orders from some government bureaucrat or commission.

Under the liberal Democrats’ health care reform proposal, we’re losing more individual liberty and personal responsibility. It’s another step toward bankrupting our country. The cost will require increased taxation for everyone to support socialized-type health care – regardless of verbiage alleging a minimum fixed income amount on tax increases.

Furthermore, the rush to vote on the bill leaves one wondering what’s inside the bill that lawmakers do not want us to find. Let’s problem-solve – not regret something later.

I support Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ health care approach – one that stresses prevention and protecting our doctor-patient relationship – rather than some top-down, government-knows-best health care.
