Thomas writes a jumbled rant

The Spokesman-Review

Right to die is to abortion as conditioning is to Pavlov? What? “Abortion on demand was conceived through the bogus rape of an unmarried woman …” (“ ‘Right to die’ packs a punch,” Aug. 4.)

So how was rape conceived? With one word (“bogus,” needlessly inserted here), columnist Cal Thomas has dismissed rape. I hope he just wrote a bad sentence, but my heart won’t let me believe that. He also leaps to the conclusion that there would be many bogus claims of right to die-ers queuing up in Switzerland.

Who would lose here? Perhaps private insurers? Stay outta my bedroom and my head, and my newspaper, with your silly rant.

Could it be that there are some who believe that “The One” finds this human grasping at life at any cost, under any circumstances, just so they can twitter Oprah, or race to replace their clunker, somewhat meaningless?

I’d just about given up on us, but was cheered by the letters regarding health care by Doris Branson and Anthony Flinn published beneath Cal’s cacophony. Keep up the good work.
