Echoes of health care neglect
I’m envious of the people attending the town halls. They’re lucky. Surely none of them has to worry about paying for health care and insurance premiums. They’ve never had to go without medical care to afford insurance premiums, pleaded with insurance reps, told employees they could no longer provide health insurance benefits, been turned over to collection because of unpaid medical bills.
Or maybe they don’t mind when insurance premiums and deductibles triple. The minority party in Congress speaks of reform, yet during the 15 years they held the majority, they ignored the rising costs of health care and insurance premiums even though it was impacting American families. They ignored the increasing numbers of uninsured or medical debt bankruptcies. And now negative tactics might defeat reform again. That speaks louder than the shouting at town halls.
