Clunker idea doesn’t add up

The Spokesman-Review

What a deal. Four billion of our tax dollars helping to get old cars and gas hogs off of our highways. Isn’t it great that we get to have our tax dollars spent to help someone else buy a car, whether we like it or not?

And isn’t it wonderful that eight out of 10 of the new cars being bought on this program come from Japan or South Korea? I should have taken that Fuzzy Math 101 class so I could figure out how that helps our auto manufacturers.

America. What a country.
