OK for Congress, OK for us

The Spokesman-Review

Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ comments about President Obama’s health care package are questionable when compared to reality.

Both McMorris Rodgers and her counterpart from the central Washington area, Congressman Doc Hastings, seem hell-bent on cutting down anything the Democrats are trying to give to everyone that needs decent health care. Their real goals seem questionable; campaign contributions come to mind.

It is not understandable what is wrong with Obama’s health care package, when on examination it is closely related to what Hastings, McMorris Rodgers and other federal elected officials, plus all of us that have VA-connected health care, receive. I’ve had it for the past 48 years and I see nothing wrong with it.

McMorris Rodgers, with her husband’s assistance as a retired naval officer, even enjoys health care facilities for their handicapped child in this same system, and I don’t see her coming out against that system that she enjoys, either.

The large amounts of money spend on insurance premiums, questionable campaign contributions, attorney fees related to medical malpractice lawsuits and overcharges involving fraud surely would more than pay for anything that President Obama’s health care proposals would cost us.
