Envision process faulty

The Spokesman-Review

As River City citizens, we are asked to look at Envision Spokane as a solution. Spokane is not a nation or a state but one legal entity within the United States of America and Washington state.

The powers of the initiatives as suggested in Envision Spokane are the theories that put the state of California in crisis. I am not saying the ideals supported by Envision Spokane are bad, but the process used to gain them has no safeguards required by our state or nation.

Our nation does not have majority rule. Rather, we are a republic; we elect representatives to make laws and expect them to take the time to study issues and make right choices. We do this to gain rights or freedoms for all, which can be taxing.
