Ballot item no mere party

The Spokesman-Review

Jim Mahoney asked, “Why not?” give Envision Spokane a try, and he compared Woodstock to Envision Spokane in his Aug. 23 letter to the editor.

There is little, if any, comparison between Woodstock and Envision Spokane. One was a large group of young people voluntarily partying. The other (Envision Spokane – Proposition 4) is a change of the City Charter with the force of law. If enacted, it will result in endless litigation, devastate our economy, force the city government to regulate and fund several programs, and will affect the lifestyle of every resident and business in Spokane.

If we, as suggested by Mr. Mahoney, give Proposition 4 a chance, it will be virtually impossible to reverse and recover from its effects. That is why we would be fools to ever give it a try.
