Win one for Kennedy

The Spokesman-Review

This week labor and the working class lost a great man. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy was a defender of the weak and the working class. So let’s give him a lasting legacy.

Instead of fighting over health care reform, let’s pass a bill that gives everyone in America health insurance. We are the only civilized country in the world without affordable health insurance.

Families shouldn’t go bankrupt because of health problems and mothers and fathers shouldn’t have to worry about affordable health care for their children. Parents shouldn’t have to pick between food and doctor bills.

Let’s quite fighting and second-guessing and come together as one country to protect everyone. Not just Democrats or Republicans.
