Tis the season for lists

The end of a year, the end of a decade , and for some maybe the end of a nightmare.  From now until New Year’s Day you’re going to be inundated with so many top 10’ish lists that you’re going to think you’re in some kind of Carson Daly twilight zone trip.

So sit back and click away at Grist’s list of “Top 25 reasons to give a damn about climate change.” What - you thought we were going to break the trend?  We didn’t say there was anything wrong with lists - in fact, we’re looking forward to posting more.  Because we know our two readers are going to be all over this - and hey, we like to argue. Ripples continue to be felt from a few weeks ago when hackers stole emails rom the Climate Research Unit of The University of East Anglia - and with climate talks in Copenhagen beginning next Tuesday, now is hardly the time to lose what little momentum we have.  Like the Huffington Post said earlier this week, climate skeptics have been having a field day making mountains out of molehills about what the emails contain.  So what is the worst you’ve heard?  Click HERE for a list of the seven most dangerous lies being spread by skeptics about the emails.

Though not a list - this next item is on topic with the above hacked emails.  Andrew Revkin of The New York Times introduced us to the 6 degrees of climate separation , and before we read it we thought we were going to figure out how we were related to The Goracle, but alas, this is much neater. The Computational Legal Studies group analyzed the network of contacts found within the leaked emails and turned it into a visualization.  It’s like loooking at the sky on a clear dark night.  Click HERE to see this first hand, and watch the video below.
