Mary Takes Aim At MikeK … Again

In her latest newsletter, which was posted today at OpenCDA.com , Mary Souza opines that the Jim Brannon’s lawsuit could serve to clean up Idaho election laws. But she didn’t stop there. She then dredges up “the most famous local story” (of questionable residency, involving — who else? — Mike Kennedy, in 2005. Mary notes: “His house was not in CdA. His wife and their six children lived in the home that was not in CdA. (They were not divorced or separated.) He ran his business out of his home office in the home that was not in CdA.  But Mike claimed he fit the residency requirement to run for elected office in CdA because, for 30 days beforehand, he “rented” a basement bedroom from a friend who lived in the city.” Mary goes on to drag City Attorney Mike Gridley and City Clerk Susan Weathers into her complaint (although she fails to mention that she finished third in the three-way race with Kennedy and that Kennedy was building a home in Coeur d’Alene Place at the time). Must be a slow day at OpenCDA.com — at least, slower than usual.
