Give pavilion a look

The Spokesman-Review

I have said it before, and the Review has printed it before, but nobody pays attention, or it falls on deaf ears, or minds are already made up in City Hall. The Mobius Center is a noble cause, but if it can’t make money in bigger cities, how can they expect it to here? The city (us) does not need to be saddled with the budget shortfalls of Mobius.

Rather than spend $39 million for a new building, and Imax, there is a failed science center sitting empty in the pavilion. Mobius can renovate that for the center and leave the Imax where it’s at. There will be enough money left to put a permanent roof on the pavilion and save the taxpayers millions down the road, as the pavilion is crumbling.

If Imax moves out of the pavilion, we WILL have to tear it down. Find a vendor to build and operate a full-scale amusement park on the north bank. In 1990s there were articles in the Review of Disney-type rides, a people mover and an observation tower being built. What happened to those ideas?
