Vandals up 43-29 at half

They played fairly nonchalantly for most of the first half, but the Idaho Vandals still lead Eastern Oregon 43-29 at the break. Kyle Barone, making his first career start in place of injured Luiz Toledo, leads UI with eight points. The Mountaineers, an NAIA Division II squad, canned 5 of 14 3-pointers to keep things fairly close.

Also, one football note: Mike Iupati made yet another All-America squad, this time the Football Writers Association of America’s . WR Freddy Barnes of Bowling Green, UI’s foe in the Humanitarian Bowl, also made the team.
