UI Reworking Contract w/Robb Akey

University of Idaho athletic director Rob Spear says he and football coach Robb Akey have met three times about reworking Akey’s contract and progress is being made toward a new deal. No official announcement will be made, Spear said, until the Idaho State Board of Education approves the extension. The SBE meets next on Feb 17-18 in Boise. Akey’s contract discussion would have to put on the agenda by Jan. 19. “When it’s appropriate we’ll get that on the agenda,” Spear said.
