Drones spare U.S. troops

The Spokesman-Review

A couple of questions for Mr. Harger about his letter on drone attacks (Dec. 17).

You stated, “indiscriminate slaughters,” but strikes are verified, double-verified and approved prior to missile launch. Is that a definition of indiscriminate?

Also, is this civilian an “innocent civilian” if seated beside a Taliban leader? I agree that civilians do die as do soldiers, because war does not differentiate between the two. But would you end the drone attacks so American soldiers would be placed at risk? Ask the soldiers which option they would prefer.

If you have been there you would know which choice is the best. War is not nice, so don’t take away one of the soldiers’ best, and life-saving, tools.
