Palin failed on her own

The Spokesman-Review

Mr. Taylor’s recent letter (Dec. 16) purports to provide “facts” necessary for us lemmings to make an informed decision on Sarah Palin. Some of his clarifications are correct, and others are incomplete. For example, did Palin “pal around with a secessionist” because her husband was an AIP member for years? The real question is who cares about these issues?

Vicious distorted comments are made during every campaign, a tactic that Palin readily embraced in 2008. Ask McCain about South Carolina in 2000 and his adopted Bangladesh daughter, or Kerry about Swift Boat, or any other candidate for national office.

Taylor’s laundry list of Palin “offenses” didn’t sink Palin’s ship; she did, due to her inability to construct a sentence or state a coherent position. Her book tour is about making millions of dollars, not positioning herself as a knowledgeable, intelligent and broad-based candidate for national office.

What is a misconception is Taylor’s unstated assumption that those that opposed her in 2008 did so based on his laundry list of “untruths” and the so-called liberal media. If he wants Palin accorded credit and credibility, he should do the same for those of us who objectively researched Palin’s “credentials” and said no.
