Self-interest is top concern
Here we are in the middle of the worst economic catastrophe since the great Depression. Unemployment is hovering around 10 percent, hard-working Americans are losing their jobs and homes and having to take pay cuts. Yet federal employees (the military excepted) think that they are entitled to a pay raise.
These “greedy” federal workers actually think that they deserve a raise. Why should a federal employee make almost twice as much as one in the private sector doing the same job? Trying to attract the best and the brightest is no longer a valid argument.
People like me living off Social Security are not getting one red cent of an increase. Well, this just once again proves who the feds really care about: themselves.
