Taking it easy in The Big Easy

This is my last post for 2009. I do it from New Orleans, where I have been staying for the past few days. Things we have seen: Cafe Du Monde, the eateries Bayona and August, horse-drawn carriages, drunks on Bourbon Street, street performers in Jackson Square, St. Charles Ave. streetcars jammed with either Cincinnati or Florida football fans, the Central Market (home of the (“original” muffaletta) and too many characters to count. I haven’t had a chance to think about movies much less see one. I’ll return in 2010, rested and ready to do that kind of battle. Until then, Happy New Year.
