Senior lunches important

The Spokesman-Review

I have family and friends who are older adults, and know that many depend on the daily nutritious meals provided by senior meal sites. These meals are not a government handout; seniors donate up to $3.50 a meal. The program is federally subsidized, and the current funding level is too low to support the meal sites. Please urge our state senators and representatives to increase Older Americans Act funding and keep this program going. The seniors need this program.
