Moral high ground hard to scale

The Spokesman-Review

Last Sunday’s S-R front page stated our Washington administration’s opinion that our country’s use of rendition is OK.

Can someone explain to me the difference between rendition and kidnapping? Isn’t kidnapping not OK?

Here I was beginning to feel that the USA had finally regained a moral high ground, only to discover that we still have one foot in the swamp of theories of convenient executive privilege or the like. Apparently President Obama, like Nixon and Bush, feels that he alone can determine right or wrong, irrespective of our rule of law.

Again, I’m embarrassed and ashamed.
