GOP already got its cut

The Spokesman-Review

Why are Republicans crying about the economic stimulus bill? They are largely responsible for the current mess with their agenda of borrowing for tax cuts and stopping government oversight. So it’s OK to saddle future generations with debt for tax cuts, but not for health prevention or infrastructure? What’s wrong with fixing roads and bridges and investing in green energy? Rich Republicans want to ride out this economic crisis and keep the rest of us in the poverty they created.

The fact that the government needs to borrow for bailouts and stimulus proves that unregulated free market economics doesn’t work. My 401(k) is now a 101(k). Some guy named Bernie got my savings and sent them into cyberspace. If tax cuts and corporate welfare works, why are companies failing and laying off their workers? Republicans deny vaccinations and school lunches for poor kids, but give tax breaks to profitable corporations.

What did Exxon-Mobil and other mega-corporations do with windfall profits? They didn’t hire more employees or buy more equipment. Now they’re asking for more corporate welfare and tax cuts. Ask Congresswoman McMorris Rodgers to explain why she is crying about the stimulus bill and still promoting a failed economic policy.
