Rogen and Gondry? Who’s been smoking what?

Dan

One of the weirdest Hollywood pairings that I’ve heard of in a while is Seth Rogen and Michel Gondry , with Gondry agreeing to direct Rogen’s attempt at remaking “The Green Hornet.”

Rogen you know as the “Knocked Up,” “Superbad,” “Zack and Miri Make a Porno” guy whose film “Pineapple Express” gave new meaning to the expression “stoner movie.” Gondry, on the extreme other hand, is the French-born make us such psychological studies “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” and “Be Kind Rewind.”

This would seem to be like pairing Sarah Silverman and, say, Catherine Hardwicke (the woman who directed the teen-vampire flick “Twilight”). Or maybe Lisa Lampinelli and … hmmmm, Sofia Coppola ?

One good thing: Stephen Chow , who for a short while was supposed to direct, is still supposedly on board to play Kato.

Below: Seth Rogen, shown here with James Franco in the stoner comedy “Pineapple Express,” may team up with French filmmaker Michel Gondry.
