Consolidation deserves a look

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane County, city of Spokane, city of Spokane Valley. Three governments, all struggling financially.

Three governments certainly cost more than one or two. Does the word consolidation carry some weight here? Of course, it’s not in the best interest of the powers that be, but it would certainly be in the best interest of the citizens who pay for these governments.

We could have a greater Spokane, one that costs less.
