Pride, anticipation palpable

Nora Carpenter , an Idaho native and U of I Alum who works in the DC area and lives in Boise, said she’s so excited to be in the nation’s capital. .

“The sense of pride and anticipation is palpable.  Everywhere you go people from all over the US and the world are gathering to share a moment in history - and they know it.  And Idaho is here.
I visited the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History this afternoon to study up on my Presidential and Inaugural history and bumped into the University of Idaho student body president and his friends!  The official symbol of recognition was a University of Idaho tote bag.  One flash of black, silver and gold and voila’ instant new friends.  There is only a full generation between us, but we’re all Idahoans celebrating all that makes this country great and that is enough to break the ice anywhere you go.
From my perspective, Saturday on the National Mall can be summed up as the 4-P’s…today it was all about…People - from everywhere joining in celebration, Press- also from everywhere.  Dodging cameras and networks is a challenge.  Police - more than you can imagine, good to see, but sad, as well.  And Port-a-potties…oh my, I’ve never seen anything like it.
