Arriving in DC

Gene Fitzpatrick of Spokane reports on getting out of the Metro Subway in Washington DC:

It’s a quarter to 7 in the morning I’ve been in a transit mood since 4:30. The place is packed with people. It’s taken about 20 minutes just to get out of the tunnel to get up stairs so we can start to walk out of the tunnel.

People are in great spirits. Everybody’s having a great time. The weather is cold and windy. I can see the gray stream of morning.

The transit people have done a great job. Everybody, everybody is out.
