WSU leads by one at half
COUGARS
USC coach Tim Floyd is the master of multiple defenses. So far today the Trojans have played a triangle-and-2 on Klay Thompson and Taylor Rochestie (something WSU worked against in practice), a box-and-1 (ditto), zone and man-to-man. All they’ve done is slow down an already patient WSU offense, but also limiting the Cougars to 25 percent shooting – and they are winning 19-18. On the other end, WSU has played nothing but man – nothing unusual there – and has held USC 37 percent. Thompson leads WSU with six points, while Nikola (that’s a familiar name) Vucevic leads USC with six as well. We’ll be back at the end of the game.
