Block Geithner

The Spokesman-Review

This is a request to Sens. Cantwell and Murray. Please do not cast an affirmative vote for Timothy Geithner to be confirmed as Treasury secretary.

The simple fact that he was unable to properly pay his income taxes and admitted in his confirmation hearings that if he had not been nominated he would not have paid makes him unqualified. An additional insult to the American people was the fact that he had to pay no penalties or interest on his unpaid bill.

If you do vote to confirm him I request that you either work on my behalf to get me the same treatment when I don’t pay my taxes on time or immediately introduce legislation making this new Geithner precedent official IRS policy for all Americans.
