- Update : Matthew Fish was transported to KMC to be treated for injuries in that snowmobile crash @ 12:30 p.m. Monday @ Forest Service Roads 209 & 612. He told rescuers that he crashed in the Fernan Saddle area after failing to negotiate a curve. Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
- 4:39 p.m. R/P is worried that three juveniles snowboarding on a nearby embankment @ Highway 41 & Ohio will slide into the roadway.
- 4:20 p.m. A silver vehicle has crashed under the I-90 overpass at NW Boulevard, facing w/b in the e/b lane.
- 2:55 p.m. Another crash — @ M/P 8, a pickup rolled over. No injuries.
- 2:46 p.m. 2-car crash on Appleway, in front of Top of China.
- 2:42 p.m. ISP issues bulletin: ” Currently Eastbound I90 is closed due to multiple crashes between SH41 and Northwest Blvd. These crashes are due to Icy Road conditions.”
- 2:30 p.m. ISP officer asks whether the freeway should be shut down. But a second officer responds that traffic is moving OK.
2:29 p.m. 2 more crashes reported, this time @ 41 & 90 — a pedestrian struck by a vehicle and a passenger car stuck under a fuel tanker.
2:22 p.m. Molly, our newspaper courier, says that freezing rain on the roadway and windshields are causing the accidents. She was able to get through the interstate e/b and make it to our office on Northwest Boulevard.
2:11 p.m. It’s hard to make out exactly what’s happening on the interstate. Sounds like two rollovers, one near Highway 41. Also, sounds like officers found drug paraphernalia in one of the vehicles involved in the multiple accidents. At least two people have been transported to hospital.
1:58 p.m. Sounds like there’s been several crashes on the interstate that’s closing down the e/b & w/b lanes, at I-90 & Atlas. In one stretch, there are 3-4 crashes in one area. Non-injury, from that crash. Officer is checking injuries in other crashes. A woman is bleeding from the head and can be heard crying in the background in another crash. Officers say the interstate is slick as grease from Northwest Boulevard to Atlas Road.
1:46 p.m. Seizure reported at Hastings/Appleway.
1:41 p.m. A middle-age woman has fallen in the CPD Blue lobby on Schreiber and can’t get up.
1:26 p.m. EMTs are responding to someone who has fallen at Bardenay restaurant/Riverstone.
1:21 p.m. A 60-something female with a handgun has left on foot in the snow at Rockford Bay after a fight with her husband. She’s wearing a dark coat, pink shirt, and sweat pants. Update: Officers have spotted her and are approaching with caution.
12:06 p.m. A youngster is complaining of hip pain after falling at Spirit Lake Elementary.
