PM Scanner Traffic — 1/30/09

  • 6 p.m 2 girls in pink sweatshirts are walking up the I-90/41 on-ramp to hitchhike.
  • 5:25 p.m. Resident in the 1000 block of 21st Street reports her stove is on fire, and the fire is spreading to the cabinets. She and her children have evacuated the house.
  • 4:29 p.m. R/P reports seeing a driver in an older burgundy pickup with Montana plates weaved after swigging a can of beer @ 95 & Kathleen.
  • 4:17 p.m. CPD Blue is looking for a 1989 Ford pickup with Washington plates that was involved in a hit-and-run accident by Super 1, Kathleen & 95. Officers have the front license plate of the pickup, which was knocked off in the crash.
  • 3:10 p.m. Coeur d’Alene police summary for 1/29 here (pdf) .
  • 2:51 p.m. An emergency responder called a local business to check out a fire alarm only to get an answering machine which said “not to leave a message because no one listens to them.”

  • 2:42 p.m. An Athol resident reports that the neighbor’s mentally challenged daughter shot his dog an hour ago. He has taken the dog to the Athol vet clinic.
  • 12:52 p.m. A woman on Westwood/Rathdrum reports that her dog was attacked by another.
  • 1:19 p.m. A young woman in jeans is walking down the center of Hayden Avenue, east of Highway 95, trying to wave down vehicles for a ride.
  • 1:26 p.m. In bits & pieces, the scanner is reporting that a 16YO females has been involved in some sort of “multi-system trauma” accident. Can’t figure out what has happened.
  • 1:28 p.m. A female without shoes and socks is walking e/b on Lakeside Avenue. She has fallen several times.
  • 132 p.m. A female is slumped over the wheel of a vehicle @ Highway 41 & Ross Point Road, apparently unconscious.
