Great Tasting Goodness! - works by Gabriel Brown
Local artist and
garbologist
Gabriel Brown
just sees things different than the rest of us. Sure you could say that about a lot of artists, but the difference with Gabriel is his ability to use his art in such a subtle way that you often forget that there is a message in there because you’re lost in amazement of his sculptures or enjoying the entertainment of his performances. But there’s a message, an honest and honestly, scarey message, and Gabriel wants you to get it, he’s just not going to throw it in your face or make it obvious. And you’d be hard pressed to find someone more capable and knowledgeable in providing the message of our societies over indulgence, wastefulness, inefficiencies, and lack of conservation.
If you’ve never seen his work, now is the chance. “Great Tasting Goodness” - sculpture, performance, and photographic works by Gabriel Brown will be running at the
Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture
from July 3 through August 29 with a special opening reception for First Friday (this Friday) from 5 to 7 p.m.
