Leftist indoctrination

The Spokesman-Review

Ah, and yet another leftist indoctrination camp for kids establishes an outpost in Spokane, this one called Earth Scouts.

Like its numerous clones, it seeks to persuade youngsters that “we are one human family with a common destiny,” and that they should support “economic justice,” no doubt enticing them with promises that by boarding that bandwagon they will be saving many cuddly animals – and little kids like them – from eco-disaster.

Well, we are not “one human family,” of course. We may be one species, but a species is not a family. Instead, we are 7 billion separate individuals, each with a unique mind and body – and interests, values, goals and dreams – of our own.

Since we also have separate talents, skills and motives, nor do we have any “common destiny,” but separate destinies we each create by pursuing those diverse interests and applying those diverse talents and skills.

But, alas, the motive for the contrary view is as old as human society, i.e., “economic justice” – a euphemism meaning, “seize wealth at gunpoint from those who have earned or created it and hand it over to those who didn’t.”

Seems we will never learn.
