Rights panelists needed

The Spokesman-Review

On paper, Spokane has a Human Rights Commission which should have nine members, three from each City Council district. Check out the commission’s duties at www.spokanecity.org/services/human rights.

In my opinion, Spokane needs the Human Rights Commission up and functioning (read The Spokesman-Review almost any day). Yet, city officials have told me that not enough persons have volunteered to serve on the commission, so it has not been able to be formed!

If you have an interest in human rights and are willing to volunteer, please call, write or e-mail the mayor’s office to express your interest.

All Spokane citizens are entitled to their rights as humans!
