Scanner Plus: Kayakers Rescued

8:56 a.m. At Maiden Rock on Lake Pend Oreille (near Sagle, about 20 minutes by boat from Bayview), a woman kayaker is clinging to rocks and her male companion is missing after their kayak capsized. Both were wearing lifejackets. Reportedly, the woman is getting cold. And the man has cardiac problems. The sheriff’s marine division and dive team are responding. At Bayview, deputies are trying to get a civilian boat to check out the situation. Update (10:03 a.m.): Bayview Herb reports that the woman has been rescued. But the man hasn’t been found yet. Update (11:23 a.m.): Timberlake Fire Department fire boat rescuers found both individuals safe, according to Bayview Herb/ Bay Views . SR story here .
