Post Falls Couple Wins NIC Big Raffle
Thousands of ticket holders sat in lawn chairs on the grounds of North Idaho College Wednesday night hoping to become winners in the NIC Foundation’s Really BIG Raffle drawing. Cash and prizes totaling more than $335,000 were given away at the 16 th annual event, including the $300,000 house built by students in NIC’s carpentry program. Winners were:
- Grand prize $300,000 house —Rob and Jan Garrett of Post Falls with ticket #3001. The couple was not present at the drawing.
- First place $20,000 car —Justin Hoertz of Rathdrum with ticket #3512. The ticket holder was the only major winner present at the drawing.
- Second place $10,000 boat —Kathy Fix of Spokane, Wash., with ticket #1189.
- Third place $3,500 travel package —William Clark of Spokane, Wash., with ticket #2036.
- Fourth place $2,000 shopping spree —James Pond of Post Falls with ticket #2591.
The NIC Foundation will net more than $190,000 from the Really BIG Raffle this year. Through the fundraiser the past 16 years, the NIC Foundation has generated net proceeds of $2.5 million.
