Valley spending curious

The Spokesman-Review

When I read the article about the debt the city of Spokane Valley owes Spokane County I thought it was written by Doug Clark! I was surprised it was written by the Valley mayor and he was evidently serious.

The city hired a Portland firm for $24,345 of taxpayer money to check the county and state auditor’s figures which this city disagreed with. Needless to say, the county and state were correct.

What’s humorous is that the city of Spokane Valley was reprimanded by the State Auditors Office for neglecting to get receipts for several credit card purchases in their audit. In other words, this city can’t keep their own records straight, but they’ll spend our money to challenge others. Ridiculous.
