Wallace Embraces Wi-Fi Access

David Bond /Wallace Street Journal reports: “A noble if largely unheralded effort to enable free Wi-Fi access in Wallace is well underway. There remain a couple of dead spots, but you can basically cruise Cedar and Bank streets and connect with an open-key wi-fi modem just about anywhere. Arnold (last name unknown) of ALS Computers on Cedar has led this effort, showing merchants how they can “open up” their wi-fi modems to public access without the need for a password, while keeping the business side of their modems encrypted and safe from hacking. This is pretty cool; you can hump your laptop around Wallace till you find a sunny spot, open the beasty up and surf, email and blog to your heart’s content.”
