Looking to get out on the river this summer? Now’s the time to sign up for the 14 remaining trips on the “Meet Me at the River Raft and Kayak Expeditions,” from the
Spokane River Forum
. They range from a romantic evening out on the Kayak Moonlight Paddle at the Lower Spokane River (21 and up y’all!) to the Paddle to Argonne Bridge, and stop for an Eco-Tour at Inland Empire Paper Co. Indeed, it truly lives up to their “something for everyone” motto.

Thanks to the 100+ people who have participated in the first seven 2009 Meet Me at the River Raft and Kayak Expeditions. With 14 trips remaining there is still “something for everyone”.

Thursday, July 23, 12:00 – 5:30 PM
Kayak- Spokane River: Plante’s Ferry to SIRTI
Paddle beneath the cliffs of Arbor Crest, under Argonne bridge and into the south channel of Upriver Dam. Stop for an Eco-tour of Upriver Dam and then continue deep into Spokane’s industrial core. Keep your eyes open for osprey, beaver, marmots & more. Complete the trip with dinner & beverages at Anthony’s Restaurant. Enjoy an incredible view of Spokane Falls while sharing tales of river adventures.
(6:00 pm Dinner optional, $18.95 Reservations required)

Saturday, August 1, 8 AM – 12 PM _
Kayak-Upper Spokane River: Corbin Park to Harvard Road
Explore the Spokane River as it winds past stateline and into Spokane Valley. Gentle whitewater at Sullivan Road makes this a fun paddle. Audubon naturalists will be along to do bird spotting and we’ll have an optional fly-fishing demonstration at Harvard Road.

Saturday, August 1, 12 PM – 4 PM
Kayak –Upper Spokane River: Harvard Road to Plante’s Ferry
Enjoy a pleasant paddle through Spokane Valley and discover the native plants, fish, and wildlife that inhabit this river stretch. Fly-fishing demonstration at Harvard Road (optional) Complete your river paddle with a scenic trip to sample wines at Arbor Crest. Ages 21 & up (optional)

Wednesday, August 5, 7PM to 10 PM
Kayak Moonlight Paddle –Lower Spokane River: Plese Flats to Deep Creek
Paddle into the moonlight sights and sounds of the past preserved in Riverside State Park. Wine and cheese under the stars is the perfect end to this reflective journey. (Ages 21 and up)
Optional Eco-Tour/Audubon hike at Deep Creek 4:30 -6:30 PM

Friday, August 7, 2 – 8 PM
Kayak - Tum Tum to Little Falls
Experience a summer afternoon paddle from Tum Tum to DNR Campground. During portage, we’ll have an Avista led Eco-Tour of Long Lake Dam. Bring your picnic dinner. Savor the pristine beauty of the river between Long Lake and Little Falls Dams. You may see deer, moose, osprey, eagles & numerous waterfowl.

Sunday, August 9, 12 - 5 PM
Kayak -Spokane River: Plante’s Ferry to SIRTI
Paddle to Argonne Bridge, and stop for an Eco-Tour at Inland Empire Paper Co. Return to the kayaks and see how the shoreline changes on the way to Boulder Beach. Portage around Upriver Dam and continue into the heart of Spokane. Keep your eyes open for osprey, beaver, marmots & more. Complete the trip with dinner & beverages at Anthony’s Restaurant. Enjoy this incredible view of Spokane Falls while sharing tales of river adventures. (6:00 pm Dinner is optional, $18.95 Reservations required)
