Larry Vandervert’s letter in the July 17 Spokesman-Review (“Water’s foul at webfoot site”) is superb, clever and poetic. Barely eight lines and he nailed it!

Come on, Parks, pretty up the pond. Visitors to Manito enjoy the pond, but the ducks live in it. Those who love nature must wonder, “Is it safe for them to land in THAT water?”
