Carried Out Alive

Craig Walker, left, and Mark Rhodes of Idaho Fish and Game carry a tranquilized black bear (brown in color) to a waiting trailer Thursday, May 11, 2009 in White Pine Park in Post Falls. The bear, estimated to be 150 lbs., was up a tree in the middle of the park. Fish and Game officers tranquilized the bear, then went up on a fire ladder to help the bear down from the tangle of branches where it fell after being shot with a dart. The bear will be released in the woods after it wakes up in 30-45 minutes, said Walker. JESSE TINSLEY jesset@spokesman.com (Jesse Tinsley / The Spokesman-Review)
