Luke had sources

The Spokesman-Review

Jamie Tobias Neely’s column on Pentecost Sunday events and the death of late-term abortionist Dr. George Tiller was typical of today’s journalism. It’s not about you, Jamie.

When Dr. Luke wrote the book of Acts in the New Testament he pointed to the fulfillment of the prophet Joel with the manifestation of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Dr. Luke had also interviewed Mary and the involvement of the Holy Spirit in the conception of Jesus. The key word is “Holy.”

How sad Dr. Tiller ushered in church on Sundays and was an instrument of death of late-term babies on Mondays. Mother Teresa, Martin Luther, John Calvin and John Wesley are turning over in their graves.

As far as Rush Limbaugh’s expression of “hate speech” opposing the sacrament of abortion, he’s in good company. Queen Herodias accused John the Baptist of “hate speech” when confronted by the truth. A voice crying in the wilderness has been known to have his head served on a platter.

Many look upon Dr. Tiller as a martyr for his cause. “Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?” (Genesis 18:25)

May the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, console the family he leaves behind.
