Af2 keeps 16-team playoff format

Arenafootball2 will retain the 16-team playoff format it used in the 2008 season. That means 8 American Conference and 8 National Conference teams will advance to the playoffs. There had been discussion of trimming the field to 12 teams.

On the topic of the ArenaCup possibly being played at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, the league won’t announce its decision until next week.
