Wired world has gaps

The Spokesman-Review

Great! Finally someone is speaking out about computers and the Internet not being available for all (“Limited access,” June 14).

The assumption that everyone has access is ridiculous. Just because a family has a computer doesn’t mean everyone in the household understands or can use it correctly. Most businesses rely on a single individual, like a secretary, to handle their computer use. I’ve been working with computers for 40 years and they still confuse me.

Business and government telling us to “go online” for information assumes we have plenty of time to sit and try to access useful information. Thanks for the report.
