PM Scanner Traffic — 6.24.09

  • 5:21 p.m. PFPD Blue advises that 2 girls are waving @ traffic from the I-90/McGuire Road overpass and not doing anything else (in case dispatch gets calls).
  • 4:45 p.m. Someone dropped a poodle out of a vehicle @ Wilbur & Pinegrove/Hayden.
  • 4:37 p.m. Union Pacific reports that a train almost hit an e/b white Ford p/up w/crew cab that ran the signals on Highway 54/Athol.
  • 4:23 p.m. A vehicle is fully engulfed in fire @ Highway 41 on-ramp to I-90. Fire is spreading.
  • 4:13 p.m. Several callers report a newer blue pickup has almost had several head-on crashes as it weaves n/b in s/b H95 lanes from Parks Road/Athol. Update (4:19 p.m.): Driver rolled to a stop and now is passed out in a ditch, near Trinity. An R/P has locked himself in the pickup so the man can’t drive off if he regains consciousness. ( Update 2 4:27 p.m.): Male has regained consciousness and become combative.
  • 4:12 p.m. Robert @ Pastime/Athol wants help getting back his pickup he loaned to a woman (also at the bar) three months ago.
  • 4:06 p.m. Wal*Mart won’t press charges against a female for shoplifting although she has prior convictions for petty theft. Store is looking for her male companion.

  • 3:33 p.m. 3 to 4 people in white passenger car are threatening to kill R/P @ Black Bay Park/Post Falls.
  • 3:08 p.m. 2 Honda passenger cars — one orange and the other orange-and-black — are racing along 15th Street/CdA.
  • 3:03 p.m. CPR is being performed on a 20-week-old baby who is struggling to believe @ Sandwich & Henry/Post Falls. Update (3:11 p.m.): Baby is breathing again.
  • 2:58 p.m. ISP officer is stopped w/a stolen car on I-90 @ M/P 17, east of CdA.
  • 2:33 p.m. Officer wants Street Department to pick up Lazy Boy sofa in median on Ramsey Road, south of Dalton Avenue.
  • 1:15 p.m. Woman in blue Cavalier stalled & blocking traffic @ Ironwood & Lincoln Way.
  • 12:54 p.m. CPD Blue bike cops are searching Tubbs Hill for a man in his early 20s with black-and-blue hair and numerous facial piercings who may be suicidal and have cuts on his neck. The man had asked to use a female’s phone on east side of hill. Update: Man found at Government Way & Spruce and taken into protective custody.
  • 12:46 p.m. A fiftysomething woman is suffered chest pain @ US Bank call center/Seltice Way.
  • 12:18 p.m. A bale of hay is impeding traffic on I-90 @ M/P 5 (Spokane Street/PF).
