Parade treatment flawed

The Spokesman-Review

It’s unfortunate that The Spokesman-Review spent more ink on the gay pride parade than on the Spokane Junior Lilac Parade.

On the one hand, you have a very large group of hardworking, talented young children who practice for hours and get so excited to be in this parade, not to mention the proud parents and other family members whose smiles radiate the whole city. On the other hand, you have a tiny percent of the population who are out in the street to let us all know what their sexual lifestyle choice is.

Hmm. I’m not seeing how the latter should rate as more important. But I’m sure someone will read this letter and sternly (yet illogically) inform me of the struggle for rights, acceptance, yadda yadda yadda. Just try explaining it to the kids.
